Fleet

The space fleet in the games serves to protect and seize colonies. Ships can be located either in a star's orbit or in outer space, headed to a given star. Orders to the fleet can be given only if ships are already in the system of any star.

To seize an enemy's colony, it is enough to send your ships there. If the chosen colony is guarded by an enemy fleet, a battle will take place. The colony will be yours after you win. And vice versa, if an enemy attacks you, you will have to defend your colony or else you lose it.

If an interstellar mission order is given to several ships, they fly in a group at the speed of the slowest one.

To see the list of your ships, you can use the fleet screen (accessible under the game menu – Fleet or by pushing the "3" key). In the fleet screen, you can see the characteristics of any ship, sell a ship or exchange crews between selected ships.

The crew of every ship gains experience in battles. If you decide to sell an old ship with characteristics inferior to new types of defense technology, you can transfer the experienced crew from the old ship to a new one. A crew can be transferred between ships of the same class only if they are at the same star.

Every ship costs a certain amount of money from the treasury per move, the higher the class of a ship, the more expensive its maintenance.

If you do not have enough money to maintain a ship's crew, they can mutiny and take the ship away.
